Generalist/ Researcher in Residence on Social Impact
The role involves co-developing tangible social impact indicators with the cultural organizations, focused on specific topics such as loyalty and diversity.
What you will do (core activities)
Conduct Initial Desk Research: Review existing literature and frameworks related to specific social impact indicators in the cultural field to inform the development process.
Facilitate Co-Creation Workshops: Organize and lead interactive workshops with staff from the specific cultural organizations (a festival office and a live music venue) to collaboratively design relevant and actionable social impact indicators.
Data Analysis: Analyze data collected by the organizations and during the workshops, translating the results into practical guidelines that can be incorporated into data-sharing software.
Develop Implementation Strategies: Create a clear plan for embedding these indicators into the participating organizations' operations.
What we’re looking for
Candidates should possess a mix of knowledge in social impact measurement as well as practical experience working with cultural data.
You likely have:
Experience working with cultural organizations, particularly with data collected by cultural organizations.
Experience in applying social impact indicators (prior experience in SROI is beneficial).
Familiarity with data analysis and its application in organizational contexts.
Skills in collaborative work, especially in facilitating workshops or group discussions.
Background: A master's degree is required, but practical experience is what we are looking for in an applicant. Ideal disciplines include cultural economics, cultural policy, sociology, or related fields.

Analysis of data collected from workshops, translating it into actionable insights and co-developed social impact indicators for the cultural organizations, along with guidelines for implementation.
Compensation and time
The compensation for this role (independent contractor) is set at The compensation for this role (independent contractor) is set at €7.000, tied to the successful completion of specific deliverables. We anticipate an overall involvement of approximately 75 hours throughout the project.
The work period is scheduled from March to October 2026 with high intensity periods in April-mid-May (defining methodology, carrying out initial workshops) and June-July/Sept-Oct (data analysis).
This position requires traveling on approx. two occasions. Travel expenses are covered.
